The Volcano Project

“As a diplomat, fostering understanding by bringing people together in common purpose lies at the heart of my work.
‘The Volcano Project’ not only forged closer ties between the people of the Azores and the United States,
it enriched all who experienced your works of art.”

~Gavin Sundwall, U.S. State Department

Akin to a performance art spanning over multiple years, the narrative and visuals of the Volcano Project radically explores the creative process amidst life challenges. The ensemble comprises over 70 visual pieces – paintings, sculptures, drawings – as well as a novel, La Faille/The Fault. It was first installed in Portugal, then at the Boston State House.
